Take a Step Toward Your Potential with T-ACT

How is your university life going so far? Some of you may have entered university with great expectations, while others may still be finding your footing in a new environment. University is not only a place for coursework and research, but also a place where you can rediscover your interests and values. Is your campus life what you imagined before enrolling, or is it beginning to look a little different?
At the University of Tsukuba, we hope students will engage not only in their academic studies but also in independent extracurricular activities. Through experiences such as club activities, campus events, and connections with the local community, you may find your relationships expanding and your perspectives changing. Among these opportunities, T-ACT (Tsukuba Action Project) is a framework that allows you to turn your “I want to try” ideas into reality.
Through T-ACT, you can design activities based on your own interests or concerns and work together with others to bring them to life in ways different from classes or club activities. Projects range widely—from organizing events and collaborating with local communities to interacting with international students and addressing social issues. Even small questions or simple ideas can lead to unexpected encounters and new learning experiences.
T-ACT is a unique University of Tsukuba initiative that supports students’ voluntary and independent activities. As officially recognized university projects, your plans can be realized through cooperation with faculty, staff, and fellow students. Even ideas that may seem difficult to accomplish alone can reveal new possibilities through dialogue with peers from different schools and disciplines.
Along the way, things may not always go as planned, and you may face challenges. However, these experiences themselves help cultivate the ability to identify problems, think independently, take action, and collaborate with others. The experiences you gain during university life will become valuable assets, whatever path you choose in the future.
We extend our respect to those already engaged in projects and warmly welcome those preparing to take their first step. T-ACT values each student’s initiative and creativity. Make full use of your time at university and challenge your own potential. We hope T-ACT will be the beginning of that first step.
